Currently (summer and fall, 2008) my artistic efforts are focused on producing a series of fine art prints from my photographs of birds taken here on the Vineyard or on travels in the US and elsewhere. I refer to them as "Avian Art".

My paintings are works in acrylics on canvas or board, featuring a variety of styles depicting fantasy landscapes, literal Island scenes, abstract compositions and, especially, portraits of waves reaching our Island shore, which sometimes feature birds that frequent the Vineyard.
I am happy to talk to serious clients about commissioned pieces.
In the past my work has been shown at three Vineyard galleries: regularly at Dragonfly Gallery in Oak Bluffs and Louisa Gould Gallery in Vineyard Haven; also at Featherstone Center for the Arts outside of Oak Bluffs for special themed shows.
Please note that some of the images of the paintings that appear at this site have been cropped slightly. Most are hung and sold with frames which may not show in the Artwork section. The prices listed for paintings include simple professional or in-house framing when there is a frame. Custom gold metal leaf frames, where appropriate, usually cost on average $300.- more.
Note also that the actual colors of a painting may vary a bit from what you see on your computer screen.
Our motto is "Fresh Art Served Daily". Applied to my time painting or currently to my time photographing birds, this means creativity and thinking in terms of color, texture and composition are priority one around here.
